Matthew Carlson (b. 1990, Haverhill, MA) is a moving-image artist based in Brooklyn, NY.

Raised in Florida but having relocated often during his youth, his work explores notions of distance, separation, unreliable memory, and time.

He co-programmed Boulevard Film Festival from 2016–2020 and has worked with Artforum, Marina Abramović, The Film-Makers’ Cooperative, Chromavision, and currently the Metropolitan Opera.
